Partnering with an Attorney with Real Estate Knowledge Makes All the Difference

CHALLENGE

As a real estate investor, A. McMichael frequently needs the help of a knowledgeable attorney. From navigating negotiations and finalizing purchases to advising on property tax implications and understanding the nuances of tenant right and lease agreements, having an attorney who has the real estate knowledge you need can make the difference between success and failure.

It was that last category, tenant rights, that had A. McMichael calling Vickie (Kealy) recently. She purchased a property and discovered a squatter who refused to leave.

SOLUTION

As it turns out, removing a squatter from a property is not all that easy. While it sounds like the same situation as trespassing – which is a criminal matter – squatting is civil in nature. “It pays to have someone who understands real estate laws and knows what can, and can’t, be done in this situation. There is a lot of paperwork that has to be completed and filed, and I needed Vickie’s help to get it all done properly,” McMichael explained.

In a previous situation, McMichael was dealing with a contractor who was charging her for work he never had any intention of doing. Vickie worked closely with McMichael and won the case on her behalf. “She takes the time to listen to my concerns and never gives her opinion without evaluating the circumstances first. She listens and often tells me she will call me back before providing advice, so she is sure she is giving me the proper direction,” McMichael said. “Everyone at the firm is incredibly responsive and takes the time to listen thoroughly.”

RESULT

With her squatter now properly dispatched, McMichael plans to continue working closely with Vickie when needed. “She’s a partner for me in my business. You don’t find too many people who are completely honest with you in every situation. In the past, I’ve spent weeks trying to resolve an issue when Vickie can take care of it in a couple of days or even hours. It is well worth it to pay for her help,” she shared. “I only wish they did closings at The Wright Attorneys, then I’d never have to go anywhere else!”

TESTIMONIAL

“I am happy to have Vickie in my corner. She’s honest and offers great advice; she’s never failed me once since we started working together in 2017.”
